It’s that time of the year again — the time when your kids dress up and maybe you do, too. Most people like Halloween, so today I’ll bypass my usual green topics and list some of the events you can attend if you live in or near one of Mason Homes’ communities.
- Barrie (Just4U)
On Saturday, the Farmes’ Market and the City Hall will hold the 3rd Annual Halloween ‘Spook’tacular event. Taking place from 8am to noon, this event will feature costume and pumpkin-carving contests, as well as face-painting and free hot apple cider. Perfect if you have kids!
- Peterborough (Avonlea)
On Saturday afternoon, the Hutchinson House, a museum dedicated to the 1800s, will host children’s Halloween activities that feature bat crafts, apple games, fortune-telling, and tricks and treats. Costumes are encouraged, and it only costs $3 to attend.
- Port Hope (Port Hope Golf & Country Club)
There will be an event called Halloween Howl at the Ganaraska Forest from 6pm to 9pm. It includes pumpkin carving, crafts, and a campfire with hot chocolate. Call 905-885-8173 to pre-register.
- St. Catharines (Chicory Walk)
The Haunted Hernder’s Hallows Part 3 kicks off at 8:30pm at Hernder Estate Wines (1607 on 8th Avenue), with a $500 cash prize for the best costume and music by Jonesy.
I hope you have fun this weekend, and don’t forget to check out this article, which I tweeted about last week, for tips for a green Halloween.
