Mason Homes Wins Awards

11/25/2011

Last weekend, Mason Homes won five awards at the Peterborough & The Kawarthas Home Builders Association’s 2011 Kawartha Awards of Distinction. All five awards pertain to our Port Hope Golf & Country Club community. They are:

  • Best Tract Built Home over 1,500 sq. ft. (the Monarch)
  • Best Sales Brochure
  • Best New Home Sales Office
  • Best Print Ad Campaign
  • Best Project Logo Design & Signage

Having put so much work and thought into this community (as we do with all others) it’s nice to see it get recognized.

The home that won the award was the Monarch model. Through this home’s design we attempted to address the needs of active empty nesters (which form the community’s target demographic).

A large living room adjoins a formal dining room, and a kitchen with optional breakfast bar.

Because many empty nesters love to entertain, the Monarch features an open-concept design in a bungalow that includes a loft, good for extra bedrooms, guest space, games room, or a home office.

The ensuite bathroom is like a personal spa — the large shower is enclosed in floor-to-ceiling glass doors, the tub features air jets, and tasteful tiles complete the look.

The Monarch also has a large living room, adjoining a formal dining room, and a kitchen with optional breakfast bar. Eight-feet sliding doors in the kitchen and large windows overlooking the back yard make this living area flexible and flooded with natural light.

We are happy and honoured to have won this prize.

We’ve built the Monarch as a model home in Port Hope, so come visit it this weekend and see it for yourself!

Another Homeowner Event

11/18/2011

Almost two weeks ago, we held an event for our Avonlea homeowners. We have held many of these over the years, including charity events in the community’s sales office, BBQ’s, hayrides, and more. Homeowners typically love these events, and whatever they love, we love too. We enjoy seeing the community come together and grow stronger as they eat, laugh, and share stories.

Avonlea is a community in Peterborough that was designed with New Urbanism principles in mind. This means Avonlea has pedestrian-friendly streets and that it’s full of parks and ponds, with plenty of amenities within walking distance.

Having won the Places to Grow award (which recognizes growth and development carried out so it supports economic prosperity, protects the environment and helps communities achieve a high quality of life), Avonlea is an ideal place for you and your family to live.

If you’re a Mason Homes homeowner, whether at Avonlea or elsewhere, I ask you: what kinds of homeowner events do you like? Tell us and we’ll make note of it!

Event For Our Port Hope Homeowners

11/11/2011

We recently hosted a homeowner event at Port Hope Golf & Country Club, to welcome everyone to the community. Everyone had a fantastic time as homeowners got to know each other. We love these events and look forward to planning more!

Port Hope Among Best Small Cities in Canada

11/04/2011

Port Hope

I was pleased to read, a few days ago, that a study found Port Hope is one of the best small cities to live in Canada.

Carried out by Money Sense, the study lists Port Hope’s weather (second best in the country), low crime and unemployment rates, good cultural representation, and better-than-average personal income levels among the reasons why it outranked so many other cities.

Of course, we always knew Port Hope was a fantastic place for a fantastic community, which is why we built it. Still, it’s great to see recognition of this caliber.

Check it out on the “Press” section of our website, where we’ll include articles referring either to Port Hope the city or Port Hope the community
